1. Main terms/words/phrases/sentences are highlighted in each paragraph; this gives you instant feedback on what the reader (teacher) thought the main ideas were
- This generally occurs in the beginning of the paper, but depending on the genre, length, etc. this can occur later on the paper
-If the highlighting is not at the beginning of the paper, then you should rearrange the paper so that the main idea is clearly stated in the beginning
-If multiple sentences are highlighted in one paragraph, either combine the ideas to create one or create two new paragraphs with the ideas separated
2. Squiggle lines under unclear/problematic content with a pencil
-The problem is not directly stated so that students can reflect on the problem area and make their own decisions on how to correct it
3. Voice issues are circle; "I", "you", etc.; make sure to consistently write in the same person throughout the paper
