DEFINING ARTICLES
As the NLRP assignment mentions, you need to do some of your own research an locate peer-reviewed articles. Just in case, you’re not familiar with the term, here’s a brief video that defines peer-review articles:
LOCATING ARTICLES
There are four options to locating peer-reviewed articles:
Option 1
1. Go to the library's website: http://www.library.gatech.edu.
2. Then, look under the heading that says Research Tools - click on the second link that says "Find Articles / Databases". You'll see databases listed by subject.
3. Search the databases by subject.
Option 2
1. Go to the library's website: http://www.library.gatech.edu.
2. Then, look under the heading that says Research Tools - click on the second link that says "Find Articles / Databases".
3. You can also use the Database Cross Search Feature at the bottom of the screen.
Option 3
1. Go to the library's website: http://www.library.gatech.edu.
2. Then, look under the heading that says Research Tools - click on the second link that says "Find Articles / Databases".
3. Five of our major databases are listed under that heading. Click on the first one - it is listed as Academic Search Complete - you may be asked for a log-in.
4. Once you're logged in, you should see the EBSCO host - Basic search box.
5. You may search for key terms under the search box - or select the "advanced search" link to refine your search terms. If you look below the search box, you should see a heading on the left that says "limit your results".
6. Under the "limit your results" heading, you can select the box to search for scholarly (peer reviewed) journal articles. You can also select the "full text" box to find full articles.
Option 4
1. Go to the library's website: http://www.library.gatech.edu.
2. Then, look under the heading that says Research Tools - click on the second link that says "Find Articles / Databases".
3. On the right side of the screen, you'll see a heading that says "Not sure where to start?"
4. The second database under the "not sure where to start?" header is Research Library (ProQuest) - it will also give you the option to search "peer reviewed" or full text articles.
